Went with some trepidation to the Mac store today, having made my ‘Genius’ appointment. My black MacBook had fallen prey to the much-lamented top case crack.
To my surprise, they replaced the top case free (my Mac is no longer under warranty) and did the repair the same day!
Cooking certain things very slowly makes them taste very good indeed.A heavy cast iron pot is just the trick.
Our Le Creuset, called Nigel, regularly dishes up such delicacies as melt-in-the-mouth roast lamb and stoved potatoes.

I think a big problem with transport is that despite ‘£1,000 an inch’ roadworks, car journeys are still cheaper for a lot of people a lot of the time.
I wish government invest more sensibly in public transport, rather than trying to make it ‘profitable’- where shareholders profit at the taxpayer’s expense.
Such short-termism means public transport is too expensive to meet the means of those on low incomes, and too unreliable to change business people’s journey plans.
I’d also love to see the business plan for how a widening a 51-mile stretch of the M6 will bring in £2.9billion…
